Be a cheerleader for others

As a parent we want the best for our kids. We want them to succeed, reach for their dreams and be the encouragement they need. I want to root on the side line for them and be the loudest voice. What about you?

Personally, I can remember my mom driving me to all my childhood events as a teen. She did it after work and on weekends. She would drive me to buy the necessary gear and clothes and I realize now all these years later how tired she must of been some days but she was my cheerleader. Did you have a your cheerleader rooting for you planting hope in you?

My husband often talks about his football coaches being the voice of encouragement to him in high school. His parents were divorced and not always present for the games or practices growing up. He says there were many times the coaches would be that voice in his life to keep moving forward and to do his best.

Our stories of growing up whether coming from broken homes, blended families or glass houses in ministry can all shape us toward God’s plan for our lives. He knows the outcome and we must learn to surrender ourselves to trust Him. It’s not easy learning this discipline but oh when we do friend God truly gives us peace in our decisions and our personal stories become the testimonies of God’s goodness in our lives. His story brings hope to others.

God continues to use voices in our lives even as adults to speak encouragement and wisdom to us. I was blessed by this message my sweet husband wrote and I will tell you that it had me weeping.

“The story isn’t always what we want it to be.

It’s usually difficult.

It’s usually uncomfortable.

It usually forces you to trust God.

It always produces Godly character.

It puts your focus on Him instead of you.”

Lots of biblical stories are your story. God makes great men out of all those stories and used them to change the world.”

What is God doing through you?

What is your story going to be?

How do you honor God through this?

Who am I trusting?

Praying the Psalms Series

Day 3

It’s okay if anxious thoughts and worry has entered your mind right now as the world is changing before our eyes.  I have had them too. ⁣
Does this mean I don’t have faith? No, our human emotions can take us over if we rely on them. As a believer, we have to check our hearts with Gods Word. I believe this is testing of our faith.  Who are we trusting? ⁣
We are called to ๐“๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐†๐จ๐ so many times in scripture.  In Psalms 62, God is called our refuge, stronghold, and our rock.  So we don’t have to be shaken by emotions that will arise with the shifting of this world.  God is in control! Our faith is built stronger as we rest in the peace and hope He brings to us. ⁣
Does this mean we won’t get sick? I don’t know but God is the healer and our salvation. ⁣
Does  this mean we won’t go through some hard days ahead? I don’t know but God is walking with us to the end of it. (Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 12:2)⁣
I am praying for our faith to be unshaken and our hearts secure in ๐†๐จ๐ ๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐ž!

What Keeps You From Attending Bible Study?

Hey there friends!

This question I am asking myself and maybe you can relate too.

So much of my life I was so afraid to speak up and say too much in bible study. The fear of being “found out” made me so shy. The anxious thoughts in my head said, “you don’t know enough”, “you don’t have the right answers” and “you will never know the Bible as well as they do.” All these thoughts made me shrink back into myself for so many years. It wasn’t until God took circumstances out my control in my life and showed me my relationship with Him was more important than fear of the unknown and sharing how Gods faithfulness, grace, power and mercy is greater than my heart feels. ⁣

God is who leads us into understanding. He leads us out of sin. He leads us into a greater faith and greater trust of Him when we come with a humble heart groaning to know Him more not just what He can give us. We reach closer to Him like a knitted blanket and you just want to stay there, safe in the arms of our Father. ⁣ ⁣

As my relationship grows deeper with Jesus Christ, I have realized Christ confidence is boldly proclaiming His promises and praising Him for all He has done in my life not fearing what I don’t know or keeping what I do know to myself about my Savior Jesus Christ. ⁣

Beginner Scarf Knitting Pattern

Chunky Scarf Pattern

Hey friends! Burr it’s cold again in Tennessee and I love chunky scarves.  I have a pattern for this simple beginner scarf in my shop. Click the link above!

Cozy scarves and #handmadeknitsbytracy bracelets can match๐Ÿ˜

Hand knit bracelets are knitted cuffs that hug your wrist so nothing hard is touching the skin.
The best testimony I have been told was when a teacher at a blind school told me she wore her bracelet so her students could “feel” the soft cuff but the letters were metal and the student could tell it was her by the bracelet. ๐Ÿ’™
How great that our God is there in the seen and unseen in our lives.  Just look for Him in your life. He is there.

I love seeing how you wear your bracelet and what it means to you! Share your bracelet photos or your scarf you knit! I would love to see them. Tag me on social! I will share your photos

Blessings and stay warm!

Grow in grace

“She selects wool and flax and works with WILLING hands.” Proverbs 31:13

Gardening has begun here in my part of West TN.

Our hands are how we can delight in God by serving our people, working where God has us, and giving of our gifts and talents God has given us to others.  We can share His love, kindness, and forgiveness to others through planting our hearts in Jesus!

The proverbs 31 woman is a daughter of God who finds her satisfaction and joy in Jesus Christ alone.  Don’t think we can’t “be that woman” because you are if you are a daughter of the King๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Are you feeling unsatisfied or unnoticed?

God sees!
Who needs to hear this today?

Have a great day friends!

New Bible Study Starts this Month!

Hello friends!

This year I started a Facebook Bible Study Group   It is for us to study God's Word together online.  Several of you asked to do this together and I knew God was calling me to lead it.  It definitely does not take the place of your local church but gives us virtual friends a time together to dig deeper in the Bible together. Sometimes it gives you that extra accountability if you have friends online cheering you one right?

One thing I am passionate about is sharing the gospel of Jesus. We as women need encouragement and to know God's Word for our self not reading second hand knowledge of it through other writings but read and understand the Bible for our self.  It can be intimidating if you have not done it before but God meets with us on the pages and you can do it.  There is no right or wrong way.  I promise. If you are wanting learn more about a book of the Bible then lets do it the book of Ruth.

I am inviting you today to join the group and help encourage other women in studying the Bible as we study Ruth this month!
Ruth is a beautiful story of our 'Kinsman redeemer' God and His lovingkindness to his people.

We will start October 18th in the GROUP  and all you need is your Bible.  A good Study Bible with cross references is great and then go online to  www.biblestudytools.com for more helps.  I also use a good commentary either find one in your local library or online too.

I will be posting in the GROUP  each week and we will have a Live discussion each week in the group as well.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Grace and Peace friends!

We need God

Knitting and reading this morning!
Custom Hand Knit Bracelets

Hello friends!

I am reading through Jen Wilkin's book None like Him and I have stopped at self-sufficient because as I read this chapter I was nodding my head in agreement. I have turned to self sufficiency in myself instead of God alone. God is self sufficient, we are not. He doesn't need us. We need Him. You have heard this saying, "they are so needy". Right? I have said it and felt that way.  There are sinful desires that we think we need and can lead to bad things for sure but we were created to need God.  There is a part of us that has needs only He can meet. So really were created needy, to need Him.

Here are some ways we deny God and boy it might sting because I am guilty of these too.
Prayerlessness, forgetfulness, lack of conviction of sin, avoiding christian friends, and anger in trials these all hit me because how many times have I avoided prayer? Things in life are going great but no time to acknowledge the One who gives me everything. Forgetting where my provisions come from, that it is not based solely on my job or our circumstances. God put me where I am.
Have I avoided friends before, sure have when sin has taken root.  For sure we don't want conviction to sting us in the heart so we avoid church or anything that has to do with God. Concealing our lives as if everything is great when its not.
Oh and anger can take us down a rabbit hole of emotions away from God. There is no humble of heart toward God because we got this.
Wrong! We dont have everthting together as a beliver, we have nothing
but the sufficiency of Christ if we allow Him to have control.

All of these things, we are talking about here are indicators that we as believers are not relying of God but our own self suffiency.
I have been exhausted in ministry with my husband and felt the anxiety and worry that is when I took on the self sufficiency role in my life and didn't hand it over to God. In my lack, is where He is glorified. Only God is self sufficient. Only God has no needs.
We do have needs. We have a lack that God can fill with abundance. As believers, we should always seek Him to meet our every need.

How am I relying on God alone today? Lord I am in need of you for sure every hour and day. Amen

"And my God, will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Jesus Christ." Phillipians 4:19

Thanks for hanging around here, and taking the time to read my ramblings. I am thankful for the truths God is teaching me and I hope by me sharing with you and not keeping them in I can help share His sufficiency and love for each of us.

Christ alone,

trAcy

Grandma's TableCloth

Hello Friends!
November is here and Thanksgiving is this week.  I don't have a lot of decorations but there is one special piece of dรฉcor I do pull out especially for Thanksgiving dinner. It is a hand embroidered table cloth my Grandma owned and passed to my Mom and now I use it since my family comes to my house for Thanksgiving dinner.  This tablecloth makes me so happy just looking at it and brings back to mind so many Thanksgiving dinners my Grandma use to cook for us. She cooked for hours every year the day before and the day of Thanksgiving along with her Sisters help sometimes when she could. Grandma would be so tired when we arrived for dinner but she always greeted us with a big smile, a soft hug and I love you!  I now know how hard she worked because I have taken over her tradition.
I could look at all the cooking I have to do this week as a chore but I instead I will look at it with a grateful heart that I can pass my Grandma's hospitality along to my children.  I want them to always know there is a warm meal, hugs and I love you's every Holiday.
I pray you also have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving as well!

Tell me your special memories of Thanksgiving?  I love to hear about how others celebrate holidays too.

Be Blessed!
