In The Morning When I Rise

“So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.”

‭‭John‬ ‭10:7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The Lord is the Great Shepherd. We are his sheep. As a working mom of three I didn’t often think about having a guide as I guided my children in this life but I do.

Jesus.

God is with his children everywhere and guides us if we will follow him. When we listen to His voice He will move us toward Himself everyday. The Word and truth is waiting. My children didn’t always listen to my voice as I too have ignored Jesus many times. It doesn’t usually go well when we have to learn the hard way in life but our loving father and shepherd is always there waiting at the door when we come.

Will we rise and meet our shepherd?

“In the morning as I rise

I see Your beauty shining down on me from the sky

In the morning as I rise

I hear Your voice singing over me outside my window

In the morning as I rise

I can feel the Spirit gently moving in me

In the morning as I rise

You are always with me.

In the morning Lord guide my steps to thee.”

Who am I trusting?

Praying the Psalms Series

Day 3

It’s okay if anxious thoughts and worry has entered your mind right now as the world is changing before our eyes.  I have had them too. ⁣
Does this mean I don’t have faith? No, our human emotions can take us over if we rely on them. As a believer, we have to check our hearts with Gods Word. I believe this is testing of our faith.  Who are we trusting? ⁣
We are called to 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝 so many times in scripture.  In Psalms 62, God is called our refuge, stronghold, and our rock.  So we don’t have to be shaken by emotions that will arise with the shifting of this world.  God is in control! Our faith is built stronger as we rest in the peace and hope He brings to us. ⁣
Does this mean we won’t get sick? I don’t know but God is the healer and our salvation. ⁣
Does  this mean we won’t go through some hard days ahead? I don’t know but God is walking with us to the end of it. (Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 12:2)⁣
I am praying for our faith to be unshaken and our hearts secure in 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞!

The Lord will Fight for us!

Prayers through Psalms Series

Day 2

Read:

“The thief come early to steal and kill and destroy. I came so that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10

If we know that there is a enemy trying everyday to destroy our life, our family and our marriages then why would we not be on guard?  I ask this question knowing I am guilty of being comfortable in life and forgetting that there is evil fighting against the good.  A enemy fighting to steal my family, sense of security and peace.
God wants to remind us that He is working for us.  We shouldn’t go around in fear but God gives us the armor to suit up with everyday.

His Word to read and gain knowledge against the enemy.

His Spirit to listen to and guide us.

His righteousness and peace in Christ.
(See Ephesians 6:10-18 for more about the armor of God)

There is strength and power in prayer. Knowing God is on our side to fight the battle is powerful. Don’t let the enemy steal your peace, joy or your mind from God.  Take a hold of the Father today in prayer!  He will fight for your marriage, children, and you!

Prayer:

“The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? “
Psalms 27:1

Lord, today keep in your light. We know the thief is lurking by us but you have the victory. Thank you for salvation of our sins. We ask forgiveness from any sin separating us from you. We want to live in your light.  We want to shine for you! Let nothing take a hold of us but you. Be our stronghold Lord Jesus!
Amen

Are you in Awe of God?

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Psalms 110:10

As I pulled out my old journal, I read an entry from 2014.  I read these words. “God is more visible to me when I am in awe of God.”
So many years of searching who I was suppose to be and how I fit into this place God had set me in.
All I saw then was my hard circumstances and evil seeping in and I let it.
I see now the evidence of the “letting.”  Letting myself be scared and stuck by strongholds. So many things blinding me from seeing God at work.  I wanted to people please and trust in myself.  I was and still fight pride pride. Pride wants to hear the messages in the world like these we hear, you can do what you set your mind to, hustle hard!
That will only get you so far but leave you empty. There will still be a God sized hole.  I have done my fair share of hustling but if God isn’t at the center it won’t last.  The joy and fulfillment will fade.

I fit into this place God had put me in because He said so not because I was good enough. For so long I didn’t “feel” good enough, qualified or likable. LOL!

Wisdom came when I began to love God more than anything else.  God showed me that there is No room for Him in me when I let pride, anger, self love be bigger than Him.
His Spirit can’t lead and I wanted to not be blind any longer.  God can use anyone He wants to lead others to Him. I didn’t think so for so long.  I began to see the fear and awe Abraham and Moses had for God.  I began to see God as a Father who said you go and share the good news too. This is why I placed you here and stop being pleasing to the world and please me!

I tear up reading old entries and seeing the hand of God even then stirring in me what I couldn’t see then. I am grateful for who God is and showing me who I am to be.

September Positivity Scripture Challenge Day 18

Welcome to the last few posts of the September scripture challenge!  It has been good to read and write a devotional each day. I have been challenged and God has spoken to me for sure.  I hope you have enjoyed it too!

Today is Day 18 of the September Scripture Challenge

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭ESV

Y’all I have felt alone.  I have been the one longing to be included in the conversations. I have been the one who wanted to be invited to the evening get togethers. I have been the one who wanted to go shopping with the girls or have your kids play together while we chatted.
I have been the girl longing for friendship.  I have also been the girl who threw friends aside to pursue selfish desires.
God designed friendship and somewhere along the years I have learned though I have friends and instead of wishing for a particular kind of friendship because what friendship looked like wasn’t what I thought it should be or wanted it to be. I needed to be that friend I was looking for.  I am to love others more than myself. God speaks to us about loving others more than ourselves. (See Matthew 22:35-39)  I am to make others feel like they aren’t alone or as a Mom our job and ministry is to raise and teach those little hearts to love God and others too! .
.

So if you think you are alone. You are not! God is with you in every season.  God is the best friend to pray with and talk to. I know because as a pastors wife He has been my constant friend when moving town to town and change occurred so much raising my little ones.  I hope if you are feeling alone, you will seek out the girl or mom who might need encouragement today❤️

September Positivity Scripture Challenge Day 12

Hello friends!

Today is Day 12 of the Positivity Scripture Challenge

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This world fades alway as well as this body we have been given.  As much as we try to use the anti aging creams and etc, the fact is we can’t stay the same as we once were.

Unlike this body, God is unchanging and never fades away.  God promises to renew us. He gives us a mind like Him when we follow Him. He promises a new body when die.
No matter the discouragement we face today we can be assured God is our joy.
So don’t lose heart today friend! Jesus is giving us a new perspective.

Have a great day!

September Positivity Challenge

Hello friends!

It’s September and I was inspired to join in with  Ashley over at A Pile of Ashes for a positivity scripture challenge.

Do you like challenges or writing scripture?  It’s a fun way to get into the Word and memorize scripture.

This month let’s focus on positivity! The download of the complete September Scripture Challenge is on Ashley’s blog

So much can be negative in our lives but we can focus on God’s Word to change our mind set. Right?

Today’s verse is Proverbs 31:26 NASB

“She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Is my speech in kindness today?

 Am I seeking God’s wisdom?

I hope you will be inspired to join me and writing out these verses and getting into God’s Word!

*Share this post and tag your friends and let’s memorize these scriptures this month!

Blessings -
