We need God

Knitting and reading this morning!
Custom Hand Knit Bracelets

Hello friends!

I am reading through Jen Wilkin's book None like Him and I have stopped at self-sufficient because as I read this chapter I was nodding my head in agreement. I have turned to self sufficiency in myself instead of God alone. God is self sufficient, we are not. He doesn't need us. We need Him. You have heard this saying, "they are so needy". Right? I have said it and felt that way.  There are sinful desires that we think we need and can lead to bad things for sure but we were created to need God.  There is a part of us that has needs only He can meet. So really were created needy, to need Him.

Here are some ways we deny God and boy it might sting because I am guilty of these too.
Prayerlessness, forgetfulness, lack of conviction of sin, avoiding christian friends, and anger in trials these all hit me because how many times have I avoided prayer? Things in life are going great but no time to acknowledge the One who gives me everything. Forgetting where my provisions come from, that it is not based solely on my job or our circumstances. God put me where I am.
Have I avoided friends before, sure have when sin has taken root.  For sure we don't want conviction to sting us in the heart so we avoid church or anything that has to do with God. Concealing our lives as if everything is great when its not.
Oh and anger can take us down a rabbit hole of emotions away from God. There is no humble of heart toward God because we got this.
Wrong! We dont have everthting together as a beliver, we have nothing
but the sufficiency of Christ if we allow Him to have control.

All of these things, we are talking about here are indicators that we as believers are not relying of God but our own self suffiency.
I have been exhausted in ministry with my husband and felt the anxiety and worry that is when I took on the self sufficiency role in my life and didn't hand it over to God. In my lack, is where He is glorified. Only God is self sufficient. Only God has no needs.
We do have needs. We have a lack that God can fill with abundance. As believers, we should always seek Him to meet our every need.

How am I relying on God alone today? Lord I am in need of you for sure every hour and day. Amen

"And my God, will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Jesus Christ." Phillipians 4:19

Thanks for hanging around here, and taking the time to read my ramblings. I am thankful for the truths God is teaching me and I hope by me sharing with you and not keeping them in I can help share His sufficiency and love for each of us.

Christ alone,

trAcy

Bring on Fall

Hello friends!

Fall has finally arrived in Tennessee.  Today was so cool I had to cozy up in a sweater and that is exciting for me.  The leaves on the trees are turning shades of red, yellow, and copper. We don't live in the Eastern part of TN where the mountains display the trees in grandeur but our Western part is still beautiful nonetheless.

As the temperatures drop, I am even more inspired to knit. The shop has a few colors leaving because I am sold out so that means new ones will be showing up!

Here is one I am excited to show you.

It is called Truffle Shuffle. I am thinking the word 'rejoice' for this cuff. What do you think?

I have to say you guys design the best bracelets.  Some of my best sellers are the ones You designed. I am grateful for each of you helping me in this creative journey.  hAndmade knits by trAcy would not be what it is if I did not have faithful friends like you returning to the shop and encouraging me.  I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The other things happening around here is that I have started a new bible study. It is called the Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer.  If you read last months post  where I read her book Fervent , then you know how powerful a message it is.  I highly recommend one or both books.  I know the power of prayer works and am excited to dig deeper into God's Word about it.

Will you be joining me in bible study? Or have you already done it? Please share with me.

New Things Coming

Hello Friends!

It has been too long since I have posted what's new around here.  I thought I would let you all know what's been happening.  First, I have been working on new photos with photographers and a New Website in addition to my Etsy Shop.

There is always more to improve on the site and it seems to be a work in progress.  I am new to all the techy stuff but I figured it out!  I am still trying to improve in business and creating encouraging accessories for you is still my passion.

Fall is upon us and everyone seems to love the new Fall colors I have in the shop.
Here is look at just a few favorites.

Faith over Fear cuff shown in "Green Leaf Hut "

Keep in  mind all my cuff colors are limited so when they sell out I can not get them again (most of the time)

If you follow me on Facebook you can find more encouragement and video updates of what I am reading. Right now I am reading the book Fervent  by Priscilla Shirer.  I shared my initial thoughts on it there if you want to see and tell your thoughts on the book if you have already read it.
Are you praying strategically in your life too?  Or have any tips for a fellow praying mom:)

I hope you guys have a great Labor Day holiday weekend! I will be celebrating my birthday so I am sharing a 15% off coupon with my followers so if you are reading this you get to use it! The code is MYBIGDAY use this at checkout in either shop. Offer is only good until 9/4 midnight CST.

Bless you friends!

Happy Fourth of July

Hello Friends!

This week is a short one for me because our family will be going camping in a few days at the Tennessee River to enjoy some outdoor fun and Fourth of July fireworks!   The closer it gets here I am questioning the camping in this summer heat.  Although this week, the temperature has been perfect around the upper 70's and mid 80's which is great for this time of year.  Let's hope that it sticks around for our camping trip.

I am still reading Mere Christianity.  The book is really good food for thought especially if you are a deep thinker or questioning why we believe there is a God.

This week I received my journaling bible which means I can start writing my thoughts and verses inside it.  I am not the best at drawing but I like to color and doodle so this will be the place for all of that.  I am excited to start!
If you are journaling in your bible and use the hastag #illustratedfaith I would love to see your pictures on Instagram.  Leave your IG name in the comments so I can see.

Have a safe and beautiful 4th of July friends!
